Manchester City yesterday had four players named in the FIFPRO Men’s World XI which was unveiled yesterday. Having four players named in the prestigious lineup is a feather in Manchester City’s cap. The announcement caps off a successful 2024 for the world champions as they claimed a fourth consecutive Premier League title earlier this year. Although this season has yet to reach the heights of last season yesterday’s announcement is recognition of the season Pep Guardiola’s side had last campaign.
Ederson, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were all named in the FIFPRO Men’s World XI. Each player was a key part of Manchester City’s success last season. Rodri was also a key contributor for Spain in their European Championship success last summer. Rodri being named in the lineup also adds another crown to the Ballon d’Or he won earlier this season. It has been a massive 12 months for City’s midfield general.
Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling were all pivotal in Manchester City’s success last season. They all played a key role in helping Pep Guardiola’s side create English football history last season. Their contributions are recognised with them all, alongside Rodri, taking their place in the FIFPRO Men’s World XI for 2024. Although this season has been a struggle at times it is pleasing to see four of Manchester City’s key players efforts recognised.
