Coming off a run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago, Buzz Williams and his staff are ramping up preseason preparations with the start of the upcoming season just over a month away.
The Aggies received some good news on Sunday, though about the future of the program landing a commitment from one of the top players in Texas.
Four-Star combo guard Jeremiah Green committed to the Aggies over Mississippi State, LSU, Oklahoma and TCU, he announced on Sunday.
Green will play his senior season out of state at Compass Prep in Arizona before returning to the Lone Star State to play college basketball.
Buzz Williams and his staff have often used football games during the fall as a chance to host some of their top targets. They do last season hosting Green for a game inside Kyle Field. The experience gave Green a taste of what Aggieland was like and the experience was a memorable one.
“It was crazy and a great atmosphere to play in,” Green told GigEm247 last fall. “I loved the fans energy during the game on saturday. the fans are all behind their teams.
His relationship with the staff has also continued to grow stronger and serves a key reason the Aggies have been viewed as a formidable contender in this race for quite a while.
“I like the overall relationship I have built with Buzz Williams and all of the coaches. I feel I could play in their situation. I see what they have done with Wade Taylor and that is what they are trying to do with me,” Green told 247Sports Brandon Jenkins earlier this year.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound combo guard is rated as the No. 116 player nationally and No. 15 combo guard in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.
