What to Know
The Buffalo Bulls are taking a road trip to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday at Stegeman Coliseum. The Bulls are no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Buffalo is headed into this one after the oddsmakers set last week’s over/under low at 142, but even that wound up being too high. They fell 65-55 to St. Bona. last Saturday. The match marked the Bulls’ lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Meanwhile, Georgia entered their tilt with Grand Canyon on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they’ll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 73-68 victory over the Antelopes.
Georgia’s win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asa Newell, who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points plus five rebounds. Somtochukwu Cyril was another key player, going 5 for 6 en route to 12 points plus eight rebounds and five blocks.
Buffalo’s defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Georgia, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Buffalo has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.2 rebounds per game. However, it’s not like Georgia struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging 40. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we’ll see if one team can grab an edge.
