Georgia Tennis: Three Bulldogs Advance To Main Draw at the ITA All-American Championships

ATHENS, Ga. – Four Bulldogs took to the courts of day four of the ITA Men’s All-American Championships as the qualifying draw rounds drew to a close on Tuesday afternoon.

No. 64 Miguel Perez Peña def. No. 103 Maxi Homberg (Pepperdine), 6-3, 6-2

Second straight set victory of the year, advances to singles main draw

Consolation Qualifying Singles

No. 104 Aardash Tripathi def. No. 84 Oscar Pinto Sansano, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3

Qualifying Doubles

No. 33 Paulsell/Colby def. No. 54 Sheldon/Forbes (Michigan State), 6-2, 6-1

Second straight set victory of the year, advance to doubles main draw

Consolation Qualifying Doubles

No. 28 Rodenas/Planelles Ripoll (Duke) def. No. 44 Perez Peña/Pinto Sansano, 7-5, 5-7, 7(10)-6(8)

Up Next: No. 14 Thomas Paulsell will face No. 30 Sebastian Gorzny (Texas) in the round of 64 of the singles main draw. No. 28 Ryan Colby and No. 64 Miguel Perez Peña are also slated to begin round of 64 singles play in the main draw against No. 47 Gerard Planelles Ripoll (Duke) and No. 36 Khololwam Montsi (Oklahoma), respectively.

In doubles play, No. 22 Paulsell/Colby will take on Vives/Quirijns (Texas Christian) in the round of 32 of the main draw. No. 2 Freddy Blaydes and Niels Ratiu have a round of 32 main draw match against No. 17 Young/Kittay (Michigan).
