Georgia women’s basketball lands two top prospects out of Maryland for 2025 class

Date:

Georgia women’s basketball picked up two more top recruits for their class of 2025, both from Maryland.

Zhen Craft is a 6-foot-2 power forward that hails from District Heights, where she attends Bishop McNamara. She’s a four-star rated commit by 247Sports, ranked in the top 50 in the nation for her class. She’s also a top 10 power forward recruit and the top recruit in Maryland.

She’s also on the ESPN-100 list for 2025 as well, ranked at No. 62, and had offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Her commitment came Saturday.

Meghan Yarnevich is a 6-foot-2 center that hails from Potomac, where she attends Bullis School. She was heavily recruited and had offers from Georgia Tech, Cal, Georgetown, Pitt and St. John’s. She won the 2023 state championship with Howard High School. Her commitment came on Sept. 12.

The Maryland pair joins five-star Audrey Beckham as the second and third Bulldog recruits in the 2025 class.

National signing day for Division I basketball has scheduled the early period for Nov. 13-20. The regular period is slated from April 16 to May 21, 2025. It’s unsure which period Craft will ink her name on the dotted line in.

Georgia begins its season Nov. 4 against North Carolina Central. Last season the Bulldogs finished 12-18 overall and 3-13 in the SEC, losing to Kentucky in the first round of the SEC Tournament 64-50.
