Georgia women’s basketball (3-0) and Georgia State (1-2) have a long and old history.
The Lady Bulldogs and Panthers have played each other dating back to the 1976-77 season. They did two times a season from 1976-1983, and since the new millennium, they have only played each other six times, all Georgia wins. Georgia State hasn’t won in this rivalry since early 1982.
The Lady Bulldogs and Panthers are set to tip off at Stegeman Coliseum at 6 p.m.
The former is coming in on a three-game win streak after defeating Furman by 28 points last Sunday with Trinity Turner leading the pack. She is the first freshman since Tasha Humphrey in 2004 to open her collegiate career with three consecutive double-figure scoring games.
The latter is coming in off its first win of the season over Berry. They dropped their first two games of the season at Akron and at Georgia Tech.
