Get Ready for the College of Charleston Men’s Basketball Season

Date:

The road to the NCAA Basketball Tournament begins in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The College of Charleston Cougars will travel to Sioux City to take on Southern Illinois University in the first round of The Field Of 68 Opening Day Showcase on Nov. 4, 2024. The tipoff will be at noon. The game will be broadcast on The Field Of 68’s YouTube Channel and X feeds.

This game will feature a lot of firsts for the Cougars. It will be the first time the team will be led to the court by new head basketball coach Chris Mack. Mack signed a five-year contract to coach the Cougars earlier this year. The contest will be the first basketball game ever between the Cougars and the Salukis. It will also be the first time seven transfer players and three incoming freshmen will wear the College of Charleston uniform.

“We are certainly excited to open up the college basketball season on the first day of allowed competition,” says Mack.

Other teams in the showcase include Saint Louis University, Santa Clara University, McNeese State University and South Dakota State University.

Following the showcase game, the Cougars will return home to the TD Arena for a game against the University of South Florida on Nov. 8. That game will tip off at 7 p.m.

Earlier this month, the College announced that men’s basketball has sold out season tickets in TD Arena for the second consecutive season.

The Cougars are coming off consecutive seasons with at least 27 wins and trips to the NCAA Tournament.
