Here are the latest Giants injury updates as they prepare for their Week 6 matchup against the Bengals at MetLife Stadium…
Malik Nabers is trending toward a return
Nabers, who missed last week’s game due to a concussion, was expected to work with the trainers on the side during Wednesday’s practice.
That should bode well when it comes to Nabers potentially getting cleared to play against the Bengals in Week 6.
Nabers suffered a concussion during the fourth quarter of Week 4’s loss to the Cowboys, and seemed to be in a somewhat decent spot to return for Week 5 given the long layoff. But the clock ran out.
With Nabers out against the Seahawks in Week 5, Darius Slayton had a huge game, reeling in eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown as New York topped Seattle.
Eric Gray (three for 50) and tight end Theo Johnson (five for 48) also stepped up.
Kayvon Thibodeaux “week-to-week”
Thibodeaux injured his wrist against Seattle, and had surgery on Wednesday morning to repair it.
Head coach Brian Daboll said Thibodeaux is “week-to-week.”
With Thibodeaux out, the Giants have lost one of their key pass-rushers from the three-headed monster that also includes Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns.
Thibodeaux’s absence could present an opportunity for backup linebacker Azeez Ojulari to step up.
