Gigi Hadid lit up the Rabanne party at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday in a gold minidress.
The light-catching look put a twist on the classic chainlink design, featuring reflective discs resembling pop tabs.
She paired the subtly sheer dress with a small bag featuring the same linked disc design and a chainlink handle, complementing her look with gold accessories, including chunky hoop earrings and thick, gold-banded rings. She completed the gold-ensemble with shiny, pointed-toe heels.
This look also paid homage to the brand’s storied history, namely Paco Rabanne’s iconic 1968 creation for Francoise Hardy, once billed as the “most expensive dress in the world,” which featured larger discs and a long-sleeved silhouette than Hadid’s chainmail-inspired minidress.
As the face of Million Gold for Her fragrance, Hadid has a connection with the Spanish designer. She was named ambassador to the brand’s new fragrance in August.
“Then, obviously, since I worked in fashion, I’ve loved Rabanne,” the model explained to WWD at the time. “I’ve worn Rabanne, and it’s just really an honor and so exciting to be part of this campaign.”
WWD’s Booth Moore reviewed Rabanne’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, lauding the collection’s standout designs, such as the one Hadid wore to the party: “There were jingly jangly dresses, including one that scattered flakes of gold leaf as the model walked (just fabulous).”
The show also featured an homage to the original “most expensive dress in the world” in the form of a bag, which Rabanne is calling the “most expensive bag in the world.”
