John Marshall 57, Mankato East 20

ROCHESTER — Ciara Seifert came through with another double-double and it helped carry John Marshall to an easy 57-20 win over struggling Mankato East in Big Nine Conference play.

Seifert finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the way. Nobody else hit double figures in scoring. Laynie Meister had eight points.

JM led East 25-14 at halftime.

The Rockets improved to 3-2 in the league and 5-2 overall. East is 1-3, 1-4.

ROCHESTER — Mayo had an easy time with Mankato West, blasting the Scarlets 83-29 in Big Nine Conference basketball.

The Spartans built a sturdy 43-17 halftime lead.

Mia Banks paced Mayo with four 3-pointers and 20 points. Amelia Mills added 14 points, Maggie Dyer 12 and Kaia Kirkeby 11 for the balanced Spartans.

Mayo improved to 4-0 in the conference and 5-3 overall. West is 2-2 and 3-4.

NORTHFIELD — Northfield held Century to 14 first-half points and rode off with a 51-33 win over Century.

Grace Motad had 15 points for the Raiders with three 3-pointers.

Century, which dipped to 1-3 in the conference and 1-5 overall, got 12 points from Ezmae Severson. Ryaan Speers added eight points.

The Panthers went to the free-throw line 21 times, converting 14 of them.
