Glamorgan seek head coach for women’s cricket

Date:

Glamorgan are advertising for a women’s head coach as part of the latest shake-up in domestic cricket.

The Welsh club are due to field a Tier 2 side under the county name in 2025 before moving to the Tier 1 level of the professional game two years later.

Wales has previously been part of the Western Storm region, most of whose players came from south west England.

There has also been a Wales team at county level.

Glamorgan will also appoint an academy head coach in an effort to produce local talent.

Among leading Welsh players, Seren Smale is with Lancashire, Sophia Smale has joined Essex and Alex Griffiths is now at Somerset.
