ASU head coach Bobby Hurley on basketball team’s new roster of players
Arizona State University head basketball coach Bobby Hurley discusses the team’s new roster of players on July 4, 2024.
Bobby Hurley is challenging his team in the non-conference portion of the schedule, even though the move to the Big 12 already means a significant upgrade.
Arizona State unveiled the non-conference schedule in totality today. The 11-game schedule features seven contests away from home and four at Desert Financial Arena in addition to a highly-anticipated exhibition matchup with Duke before the season on Oct. 27. Times and television broadcast details will be announced later.
There are not as many home dates in the non-conference schedule as is usually the case but that is because teams are choosing to participate in multi-team events at neutral sites, which pay players directly as part of NIL relationships.
ASU is coming off a 14-18 season, the worst in Hurley’s decade-long tenure, but there is a renewed interest and optimism because ASU came away with the No. 2 signing class in the country.
