Hammer assault among Washington County indictments

MARIETTA — An 18-year-old Marietta man accused of striking a family member in the head with a hammer was one of 25 people indicted by the Washington County Grand Jury this week.

Zachary Matthew Mydland Hupp, 18, 121 Muskingum Drive, Apt. 1, Marietta, was indicted on a charge of second-degree felonious assault from May. Washington County Assistant Prosecutor David Silwani was not able to disclose the exact familial relationship the victim of the assault had to Hupp.

Also indicted were:

* Deonte Lamar Woods, 34, 1155 Courtland Avenue, Akron, and Calista Dawn Lane, 44, P.O. Box 1054, Glen Rogers, W.Va.; second-degree felony trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, second-degree felony of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, third-degree felony trafficking in cocaine and third-degree felony possession of cocaine in January.

* Aris Lemont Mann, 34, 522 Treeside Drive Apt. 3, Akron; Harmonie Treonte Harris, 24, 794 Noah Ave., Akron; and Jeffery Darshawn Law II, 28, 940 Owen Ave., Akron; third-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs in January. Mann was also charged in a separate indictment with first-degree felony trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and third-degree felony illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a specified governmental facility from May.

* Angela Stephanie Johnson, 50, 60 Young Road, Marietta, and Vanessa Nicole Longfellow, 29, 613 10th St., Marietta; fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs in November 2023.

* Keon Shermane Hunter, 29, 6465 Buck Run Road, Malta,; Nakeda Marie Wisor, 37, 17640 Mush Run Road, Athens; and Nalouzha Chyvaughn Halloway, 19, 4512 N. State Route 376 Northwest, McConnelsville; second-degree felony of burglary and fourth-degree felony of grand theft in April. Co-defendant Thomas Marvin Tanner, 58, 54 North Clinton St., The Plains, was indicted on a fifth-degree felony count of receiving stolen property.

* Devon N. Coverdale, 34, 2126 Vinton Ave., Portsmouth; fifth-degree felony obstructing official business in May.

* Robert Windsor IV, 34, 132 Laurel St., Pomeroy; fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs in August 2021.

* Olivia J. Kaptis, 47, 7079 State Route 550, Cutler; fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs in September 2021.

* Ursel Edward Marshall, 58, 52 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, and Jason Evan Matheny, 45, 1912 Gladstone St., Parkersburg; fourth-degree felony improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, with a specification for forfeiture of a weapon, in March 2021.

* Thomas Edward Nicholson, 36, Beverly, third-degree felony of strangulation, first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence, fourth-degree felony of disrupting public services, second-degree felony of burglary, fourth-degree felony of trespassing and fifth-degree felony of theft in January and May.

* Donald Eugene Bartimus Jr., 44, and Katherine Louise Bartimus, 43, both of 2288 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent; third-degree felony tampering with evidence and third-degree felony illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a specified governmental facility in February. They were also charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony count for Katherine Bartimus and a fifth-degree felony for Donald Bartimus. Also listed as a co-defendant was James “Pete” Clinton Bartimus, 51, 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, who was indicted on a third-degree felony count of having weapons while under disability in February. In a separate indictment, James Bartimus was also charged with two counts of third-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs from January.

* Miguel Devegay Turner Robinson, 21, 1761 Cromell Drive, Apt. 4, Akron; first-degree felony count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, with a specification for forfeiture of a gun in a drug case; first-degree felony possession of a fentanyl-related compound; second-degree felony trafficking in heroin, with a specification for forfeiture of a gun; second-degree felony possession of heroin; third-degree felony having weapons while under disability, with a specification for forfeiture of a weapon; and third-degree felony illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified government facility from April.

* Jeremiah Martin, 32, 127 Front St., Malta; third-degree felony escape from May.

* Zaire Cortez Laurent Edwards, 19, 1771 Gaylord Drive, Akron; fifth-degree felony harassment with a bodily substance from June.
