The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is around the corner, and preparations are underway. Ahead of the intense Test series, star Indian batter Virat Kohli has already arrived in Perth, well ahead of the rest of the team.

In the video, Kohli kindly requested the paparazzi not to photograph his children. The rest of the Indian squad is set to travel in two groups, (November 10 and 11) adding to the anticipation and excitement surrounding this tour.

Meanwhile, there is some uncertainty around Rohit Sharma’s availability for the series. Reports suggest that he may miss the opener due to the upcoming birth of his second child.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir has not confirmed any details and stated that a final decision will be made closer to the first match. He added, “Hopefully, he’s going to be available, but everything we’re going to get to know at the start of the series.”

If Rohit cannot play, Jasprit Bumrah, the designated vice-captain, will step in as team captain. This change would also lead the management to choose between KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran as the temporary opener.

Gambhir reassured fans, saying there are “quite a few options” in the squad, and the best playing XI will be selected based on the situation.

When will the India cricket team begin practice?

The Indian team is expected to start practice for the series on Tuesday at the WACA ground in Perth. The historic venue, now closed for international matches, will serve as the training ground for the players, who will train behind closed doors.

This arrangement allows the team to prepare in privacy without disruptions. Initially, India was set to face India A in a practice match ahead of the first Test.

However, due to player injuries, the practice game was cancelled. The team will now focus on match simulations at the WACA to get ready for the high-stakes series.

As the countdown begins for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian team is making final preparations for the challenging tour in Australia. With Kohli already in Perth and the rest of the squad joining soon, fans are eagerly awaiting updates on Rohit Sharma’s availability.
