The HearUSA location in Wheeling celebrated a grand reopening Tuesday to help spread the word about its expansion of regular office hours to five days a week.

Members of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce gathered at the HearUSA location at 48 Washington Ave. on Tuesday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in recognition of the grand reopening.

Lisa Williams, the hearing care provider at the Wheeling office, said HearUSA has been in this location for more than six years. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the office closed for around six months before reopening one day a week, with a care provider there only on Tuesdays at that time.

“Now we’re open Monday through Friday, with me,” Williams said. “This office is now open five days a week as opposed to one.”

Williams noted that when the office was only open on Tuesdays, people in the general public often saw the office closed on most days of the week and assumed they weren’t open at all. The doors are now open during regular business hours all week, and the Wheeling Chamber joined local leaders on Tuesday to help them sound off about it.

HearUSA operates several locations across the country, all focused on delivering cutting-edge hearing solutions to its customers. HearUSA has been serving clients for more than 35 years, and Williams said she is proud to bring the company’s trusted services to people of the Ohio Valley.

“I offer hearing exams, hearing aids, ear protection such as swimming molds and shooting range molds …,” Williams said. “My job is to take care of my clients, my patients. That’s what I pride myself on – that’s my goal. I want to make sure that if someone comes in with a hearing loss, they leave and can hear better than when they walked in.”

The HearUSA location in Wheeling specializes in removing hearing barriers for adults ages 18 and up, and Williams said she has worked with clients representing a wide range of ages and dealing with a wide range of hearing challenges.

“My oldest patient was 100 years old,” said Williams, a native of Moundsville who joined HearUSA as a client experience specialist in 2015 before becoming a licensed hearing aid specialist.

The new office hours at HearUSA’s Wheeling location are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but if needed, weekend or evening appointments can be arranged, as well.

“I pride myself on client care,” Williams said. “No matter what time of day it is, I’m here. I want to treat people like a family member when they walk through that door. I don’t want anyone to leave feeling discouraged. I want everyone to leave with a smile on their face and to know they met someone who cares and isn’t just looking at you as a number.”
