Mohamed Salah is having the season of his life at Liverpool after guiding the Reds to the top of the Premier League standings.
The Egyptian attacker has scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 14 Premier League matches this season.
The 32-year-old has shown no signs of stopping any time soon and he is easily one of the best players in the world considering his current form.
However, his long term future at Anfield is still uncertain after issues over his contract at the club.
Salah has still not signed a new contract at Liverpool and after entering the final year of his deal at the club, he could leave at the end of the season as a free agent.
talkSPORT pundits Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara has named a Premier League attacker who could be the idea replacement of Salah at Anfield.
Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who has scored nine goals in 15 Premier League matches this season, have been tipped to replace Salah at Anfield if the Egyptian leaves the Premier League giants.
Cundy has claimed Mbuemo is like a “mini Salah” and would be an ideal signing for Arne Slot’s side.
“I think, when you look at what might happen at Liverpool with Salah, I’m looking at Mbeumo and what he’s capable of,” Cundy said on talkSPORT, as reported by TBR Football.
“He’s a little mini Salah off that right hand side, [cutting in onto] his left foot.
“He has got years [left at the top level]. He has got years.”
“I’d much rather have Wissa and Mbeumo on my team [than anyone at Newcastle],” O’Hara added.
“They’re unbelievable.
“If [Brentford finish] outside of Europe come the end of the season, Mbeumo and Wissa are going to be top property.”
Does Mohamed Salah have a future at Liverpool?
It is still not known what the future holds for Salah and whether he will stay at the club or leave for a new chapter in his career.
The attacker has achieved everything he could with the Premier League giants, although winning the league title once again would be his dream.
Salah’s form and quality this season have shown that the Reds will find it difficult to sign a player of that caliber in the market and even if they find someone, he will cost them a lot of money.
It is better for Liverpool to make sure that they offer Salah a new, massive contract and keep him at the club instead of allowing him to leave and build the squad again.
