Hinesville police officer involved in a vehicle accident

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) – A Hinesville police officer was involved in a vehicle accident Saturday night shortly after 10 p.m. while responding to a call.

According to GSP, the officer was responding to a call he was dispatched to, reportedly with lights and sirens, when a vehicle pulled out in front of his patrol car on 15th St. and Tattnall Drive. When the vehicles collided the patrol car came to a stop in a grassy area of Govenor’s Blvd.

GSP says the officer was not injured and two people in the passenger car were taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the passengers was 6-year child.

The crash is currently under investigation by GSP.
