NHL on TNT analyst Paul Bissonnette and Boston Bruins left winger Brad Marchand went at it again in the latest comedic exchange on the show.

It started last Friday when Marchand fired back at Bissonnette for a comment about his hairline.

“I’m just trying to look like those guys that beat the wheels off you the other night,” Marchand said to Bissonnette. This was referring to when Bissonnette was allegedly assaulted by six men in Scottsdale, Ariz, on Nov. 24.

This sparked laughter from Bissonnette and even more so from the rest of the TNT panel.

On Wednesday, the NHL on TNT crew put together a skit mimicking an NHL Department of Player Safety video, announcing that Marchand was suspended for a full season from ‘Mr. TNT’. Mr. TNT is what the panel classifies as the player with the best personality or the greatest performances on TNT broadcasts.

In response to the comical skit, Marchand potted two goals on the same night of his “suspension” in a 4-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The skit also received positive reviews on social media.

“One of the best things ever produced and executed on an NHL broadcast,” TV host Julie Stewart-Binks posted on X.

“This was A-plus entertainment,” wrote Bruins writer Joe Haggerty. “Well done, boys.”

“Hockey needs more of this,” media personality Jordan Strack wrote in all caps. “Please God, show off their personalities more. This is gold!!!”

NHL on TNT has leaned into showcasing more lighthearted moments as well as unserious and funny moments as part of its game coverage. In the process, they pull out other emotions from players in interviews.

The Marchand episode is just one of several funny moments the broadcast brings out of players.

In the past, Bissonnette has been the victim of chirps from several other players on the show. That includes Connor McDavid, Ryan Reaves and even Connor Bedard before his rookie season in the NHL.

This latest skit will have many hockey fans looking forward to what the panel will come up with next.
