How Elon Musk plans to change gaming world? World’s richest man announces AI game studio after complaining to Satya Nadella

Date:

Elon Musk has revealed plans to launch a new game studio powered by artificial intelligence. The tech mogul shared the announcement on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that the gaming studio, created under his AI startup xAI, aims to disrupt the gaming industry and challenge industry giants like Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation.

In response to a critique from Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus about the dominance of large corporations, Musk voiced his dissatisfaction with the current state of gaming. He further promised that the xAI gaming studio would “make games great again.” Musk also recently criticized Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on X over allegations of discriminatory hiring practices at Xbox.

Why Elon Musk wants AI-powered gaming studio?

The decision comes after Markus criticised major players of the gaming industry and wrote: “I don’t understand how game developers and game journalism got so ideologically captured. Gamers have always been trolls, anti-greedy corporations, anti-bs. Gamers have always rejected dumb manipulative bs, and can tell when someone is an outsider poser. Why lean into the bs?”

Too many game studios that are owned by massive corporations. @xAI is going to start an AI game studio to make games great again!” said Elon Musk in his announcement post.

Previously, Musk also criticised the inclusion of a pronoun selection feature in the upcoming Xbox game, Avowed. “Having pronouns in a fantasy video game is utterly unacceptable ,” he wrote on X while condemning the feature.

With the xAI gaming studio, Musk plans to revolutionize the gaming industry by leveraging AI to streamline game development and deliver more immersive experiences. The studio is expected to focus on creating games that emphasize fun and steer clear of political messaging, aligning with Musk’s criticisms of the current gaming landscape. This new venture further expands Musk’s diverse portfolio, which already spans electric vehicles, space exploration, and brain technology.

Elon Musk complains to Satya Nadella:

World’s richest man and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, has taken up podcaster Ian Miles Cheong’s complaint of Microsoft to Indian-origin CEO Satya Nadella.

Elon Musk was reacting to a series of posts shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Cheong blamed Microsoft’s gaming division for discriminating against Whites in hiring.

Microsoft’s gaming division is excluding whites from being hired to work on their video games. All of their new hires are unqualified queer and black people because the company’s executives have an explicit mandate against “crusty old white dudes,” said the podcaster.

To this Musk responded by tagging Microsoft CEO Nadella, “Um, @satyanadella, this is illegal …”

In another post, Cheong shared a Blue Sky post of a popular art director claiming that he boasted of being sexist and racist with Whites. “Avowed art director at Obsidian and Microsoft brags about being racist and sexist against white guys. It’s in the company’s unspoken hiring policy, which he’s partly in charge of,” he wrote. Social media platform Blue Sky is X’s rival. Several US celebrities opposed to Elon Musk have left Twitter and joined Blue Sky, after accusing the platform of being toxic and racist.

The post Cheong shared with Matthew Hansen, Art Director at Obsidian Entertainment, who had made fun of Musk’s old post where he wrote, “It should not be acceptable for any company in the gaming industry to be racist and sexist against “white guys”. Musk’s response to Hansen’s post had a warning. “He is confessing to illegal behavior. Won’t end well for him,” he wrote,
