What to Know
After two games on the road, Brown is heading back home. They will welcome the Rhode Island Rams at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Paul Bailey Pizzitola Sports Center. Both worked hard to overcome the odds in their previous battles and are surely both feeling confident heading into this clash.
Brown’s season wasn’t pretty last year but it’s starting to look like struggles are in the rearview. They pulled ahead with a 76-75 photo finish over Bryant on Friday.
Meanwhile, Rhode Island put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Providence by a score of 69-63. The 69-point effort marked the Rams’ lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn’t matter.
Rhode Island’s win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Fuchs, who scored nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Fuchs is trending in the right direction considering he’s improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Thomas, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Brown’s victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Rhode Island, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Tuesday’s game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Brown just can’t miss this season, having made 46.9% of their field goals per game. However, it’s not like Rhode Island struggles in that department as they’ve made 49.9% of their field goals this season. Given these competing strengths, it’ll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Brown came out on top in a nail-biter against Rhode Island when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 67-64. Will Brown repeat their success, or does Rhode Island have a better game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
