Ibrahimovic: ‘Milan need mental balance, not reinforcements’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic explains where Milan need to improve their mentality, but assures they are ‘not thinking about reinforcements’ in the January transfer window.

The Rossoneri have had a shaky start to the campaign under new coach Paulo Fonseca, struggling for consistency in both Serie A and the Champions League.

Senior Advisor to Red Bird Ibrahimovic was present this evening at an event for the Kings League and spoke to Sky Sport Italia about Milan’s current form.

“We are working every day to achieve balance and stability. The team is doing well, but we can do better and that is what we want,” said Ibrahimovic.

When he was asked where they can do better, the former player pointed towards a psychological issue.

“Balance. We lose games that we should not be losing. That is about mental balance, when we find that, then the team will do much, much better. But we are positive and improving every day.”

Much has been said about the potential for January reinforcements on the transfer market, though the Milan chief seems to have no intention of breaking the bank for new players mid-season.

“Do we need that? Do you have any requests?” Ibrahimovic asked the journalist with a smile.

“Everyone is an expert and has advice. I’m kidding, the transfer market is every day, we have a scouting system to look for players, what we need and what we don’t.

“However, as of right now, we are not thinking about reinforcements. We’ll see what happens over the next two months, hopefully there are no injuries to our players.

“If all goes well, we will keep going with this team.”

Serie A returns after the break for international duty this weekend and the big fixture is a showdown between Milan and Juventus at San Siro on Saturday evening.
