India vs Australia Live Score, Brisbane weather forecast, 3rd Test Day 3: Rain delays start after tea at Gabba; India 48/4 – The Times of India

Date:

India’s batting woes continued on Day 3 of the third Test against Australia in Brisbane, as they reached 48/4 in a rain-affected second session. After losing three wickets in the morning, the tourists were further reduced by the dismissal of Rishabh Pant (9) before tea, which was taken following another weather delay.

Pant, who has struggled throughout the series, fell to Pat Cummins for the third time, with the Australian skipper having him caught behind.

With Australia having posted a mammoth 445 all out, India now need 246 runs to avoid the follow-on, trailing by 397 runs at the tea break.

Travis Head was the standout performer for Australia with a brilliant knock of 152, while Steve Smith scored an impressive 101, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most reliable batters in Test cricket. Wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey chipped in with a valuable 70 before becoming the last man to be dismissed.

India’s bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah, showcased their skill and discipline on a pitch offering some assistance to the bowlers. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with exceptional figures of 6 for 76, including key wickets that halted Australia’s momentum.
