Inter defender to miss Juventus fixture with ‘muscle strain’

Carlos Augusto has suffered a muscle strain, so he won’t be available against Juventus on Sunday, but Kristjan Asllani has recovered.

Inter will be forced to cope without Brazilian left-back Carlos Augusto for Sunday’s Serie A game against Juventus.

In an official statement on Friday, the Nerazzurri said that the ex-Monza defender had suffered a muscle strain against Young Boys and would be assessed again next week.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Carlos Augusto will miss games against Juventus, Empoli and Venezia.

However, Albania international Asslani returned to group training Friday morning and will be eligible against the Old Lady on Sunday.

Canada international Buchanan also worked with the group today but remains in doubt for the Juventus game, having spent several months on the touchline with a tibia injury.

Davide Frattesi partially worked with the team today but left the training centre earlier due to toothache. Nevertheless, this doesn’t leave him in doubt for the Juventus match.

Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi are recovering from muscle injuries and are unlikely to be available on Sunday.
