Inter Milan Coach Hits Out After Serie A Draw Vs Napoli: ‘We’ve Won 8 Out Of The Last 10 – Should Have Been 10″

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that his team cannot accept results like their Serie A draw against Napoli this evening.

Inzaghi spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after this evening’s match. He argued that even though the Nerazzurri have won eight out of their last ten matches, it should be ten wins from ten.

Inter had to settle for a point against Napoli this evening.

That is hardly a disastrous result for the Nerazzurri. It means that they are right in the thick of the title race.

As things stand Inter are level on points with all of Atalanta, Fiorentina, and Lazio. They are one point ahead of Juventus and one behind Napoli.

Therefore, it is not as though Inter have found themselves adrift in the table after this evening’s match.

However, the Nerazzurri are hardly in control of the title race.

Had Inter managed to beat Napoli, it would have put them clear at the top of the table.

Simone Inzaghi: “Inter Have Won 8 Matches Out Of 10 – Should Be 10”

Inter paid for a couple of moments in particular in this evening’s match against Napoli.

The Partenopei scored from a corner after a bit of a switch-off from the Nerazzurri.

And then at the other end, midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu missed from the penalty spot for the first time since joining Inter, passing up the opportunity to put Inter ahead.

After the match, Inter coach Inzaghi argued that “Clearly if either team deserved to win it was Inter.”

“In the second half, it was no contest.”

“We went behind on a set piece where we should have been more switched-on. But we didn’t lose our unity.”

“Napoli are a strong team,”: Inzaghi said. “But we barely allowed them anything.”

“After the amount of energy we used up on Wednesday [against Arsenal] I honestly didn’t expect a match like this,” the Inter coach continued.

Inzaghi then noted that “In the second half I didn’t want to make any changed because we had a good balance.”

“We couldn’t have done any more than we did,” the Nerazzurri coach continued.

“We could have taken advantage of our chances better. But we shouldn’t forget who we were up against, or how much energy we used up on Wednesday.”

“We need to keep going with this spirit of unity,” Inzaghi added. “We’ve won eight of our last ten, but it should have been ten wins from win.”

“Unfortunately we haven’t managed that. But we’ll try to improve, keeping in mind that we face opposition like Arsenal and Napoli who can always cause problems for you.”
