Inter Milan are confident that they will be able to offload goalkeeper Andrei Radu once and for all in the January transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Romanian is looking to change agents, with Sampdoria and Palermo interested in his services this month.
For the entire summer transfer window, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Radu would leave Inter.
The 27-year-old is certainly not a player with any part in the Nerazzurri’s first plans.
And Radu found himself back at Inter after a loan spell at Bournemouth last season.
It was little surprise that the Premier League club did not sign Radu on a permanent basis at the end of his loan. He barely featured in his season on loan at the Vitality Stadium.
Therefore, it was back to square one for Radu as far as looking for a new club.
In the 2022-23 season, Radu had been out on two separate loan spells. He spent the first half of the campaign at Cremonese, and then the second at Auxerre.
Out of his recent loan spells, it was only at Auxerre that Radu was the first-choice starter.
Therefore, the Romanian always made it clear that his only priority for the summer transfer window was that he join a club where he would receive playing time so he could find consistent form.
Inter Milan Confident Of Offloading Andrei Radu This January
There was some interest in Radu’s signature.
And in the end, a lot of the strongest links were to clubs in Serie B.
All of Sassuolo, Sampdoria, and Palermo showed an interest in signing the Romanian for this season.
However, Radu rejected these offers. And in the end, he simply stayed at Inter, where he is out of the project.
But that shouldn’t be the case come the end of the January transfer window.
Naturally, Inter will certainly look to sell Radu this month. The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of June.
According to Tuttosport, Radu is ready to change agent. Oscar Damiani currently represents him, but he is likely to switch to Federico Pastorello.
And Inter are confident that this will be the impetus for Radu to leave. The likes of Sampdoria and Palermo still consider him a target, reports Tuttosport.
