Inter Milan & Turkey Megastar Marred Facing Suspension Amid Curva Nord Controversy

Inter Milan star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu could face suspension for his rumored ties with the Curva Nord.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the 30-year-old may suffer consequences for his alleged relationship with former Curva Nord leader Marco Ferdico.

Nothing seems to be going the Turkey international’s way these days.

Indeed, this season has been anything but smooth for Hakan Calhanoglu.

Heavily linked with a summer transfer to Bayern Munich, he turned down the Bavarians to pledge his allegiance to Inter.

Despite the German side’s genuine interest, Calhanoglu has decided to stay at Giuseppe Meazza.

However, little did he know who this season would start.

Marred by recurring fitness problems, the ex-AC Milan playmaker sustained another injury during the international break.

He had to come off in Turkey’s scoreless home draw against Wales last weekend.

Shortly after, he refused to return to Inter despite the club’s request to have him back early to nurse his problem.

But that pales in comparison to potential legal issues.

Despite the club’s disapproval, Calhanoglu reportedly maintained a close relationship with Ferdico.

The ex-Curva Nord leader remains in custody following his arrest in connection with a major scandal.

If found guilty, the Turkish talisman would likely face a hefty fine and a suspension of 2-3 matches.

Calhanoglu has been at the center of the Curvas scandal ever since his friendly ties with Ferdico hit the surface.

But he’s not the only high-profile Inter member linked with the former Curva Nord bigwig.

Simone Inzaghi was brought for questioning last month over a controversial phone call with Ferdico.

Indeed, the duo spoke in the build-up to Inter’s UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City in 2023.

However, it was an innocuous conversation, with no evidence suggesting misconduct or improper influence.
