The moves clear $2.15 million in cap space for the team. With Engvall’s $1.15 million buried, $1.85 million will remain on the salary cap.
Engvall previously went down to the AHL in October before returning to the team by the end of the month.
In 20 games with New York, he has three goals and three assists for six points.
Wahlstrom had been in and out of the lineup this season, playing 27 games this season.
He has two goals and two assists for four points.
