Over the summer, Standard Liege and Arnaud Bodart tried to find a the goalkeeper a new club. However, while there was interest, a move failed to materialise. To start the season, Leko went for young Matthieu Epolo, who performed well. However, in recent weeks, his inexperience has shown as the side have struggled, with the young goalkeeper making some key mistakes that have cost the side. With Epolo returning late from Belgian U21 action, Leko may make a surprise change in goal.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Bodart may well get the start against Cercle Brugge on Saturday. Many expected his Standard career to be over at the end of last season, yet now he may find himself back in between the posts. If Bodart performs well, this could help the side find a transfer for the 26-year-old. Bodart has made 188 appearances for the side and came through the youth set up. His contract expires at the end of the season and his market value is €4m according to Transfermarkt.
