The Jaguars will be without their starting tight end for the rest of the season.
Jacksonville tight end Evan Engram has a torn labrum and will have season-ending shoulder surgery, head coach Doug Pederson told reporters today.
Engram is second on the Jaguars this season with 47 catches, but at age 30 he may not be in the Jaguars’ long-term plans. His base salary skyrockets to $14.75 million next season, so if he’s not willing to negotiate a new deal with the team, he will certainly be cut in the offseason.
This is Engram’s third season with the Jaguars. He previously played five seasons with the Giants.
