Jameis Winston benched after throwing third interception vs. Chiefs

Date:

Jameis Winston has been benched after throwing his third interception of the day.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson has entered the game with 7:57 left in the fourth quarter for his fourth appearance of the season.

With the Browns down 21-7 and driving, Winston threw an interception to cornerback Trent McDuffie in the end zone to cut off any rally.

Winston finishes his day 16-of-25 for 146 yards with three interceptions. It’s the 15th time in his career that he’s thrown at least three interceptions, which is the most in the league since 2015 — the year Winston was selected at No. 1 overall.

Thompson-Robinson completed a pass on fourth-and-11 to move the chains but the Browns were flagged for an illegal formation. Germain Ifedi was lined up too deep in the backfield.
