SYDNEY: Jasprit Bumrah left the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) with India’s team doctor in the second session of day’s play vs Australia on Saturday. India’s stand-in captain did take field after Lunch but was off after bowling just one over and left the venue in a car with the team doctor and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) integrity manager Anshuman Upadhyay.
Nothing appeared serious when the seamer was off the field shortly after the second session resumed but it seems he is being rushed for scans. There is no official confirmation or word from the Indian camp yet but broadcaster Fox flashed visuals of Bumrah exiting the venue in his training gear.

He bowled a four-over spell in the morning session and picked the big wicket of Marnus Labuschagne to take his series tally to 32 – most by an Indian on Australian soil – and broke the longstanding record of former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi who picked 31 in 1977/78. After that morning burst, Bumrah bowled another short spell of three overs before bowling just one post Lunch.

Throughout his spell, he maintained decent speeds and consistently clocked over 135 kmph and there wasn’t any visible discomfort. India would hope there is nothing serious because he has been their MVP this series and they can’t afford to lose his services midway through the match.
