Joe Burrow’s Anderson Township home broken into during Monday Night Football

Date:

Joe Burrow’s house in Anderson Township was broken into while the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was in Dallas for Monday Night Football, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office said the break-in occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Monday night. No other details were released.

The break-in comes shortly after the NFL sent a memo to all 32 NFL teams in November about organized criminals increasingly targeting professional athletes’ homes.

“Law enforcement officials have noted these groups appear to exploit team schedules to target athletes’ homes on game days,” the memo reads.

It continues, explaining groups appear to gather information through public records, media reports and social media. Some conduct “extensive surveillance on targets, their residences, neighborhoods and security measures.”

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office could not confirm at this time whether or not multiple people broke into Burrow’s home.

In early October, the homes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his teammate Travis Kelce were broken into.

The teammates were not at their Kansas City area homes because they were preparing for the Chiefs’ Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7.

The Bengals did not respond to a request for comment.
