The Ravens had a bye in Week 14, but one slumping member of the team didn’t get too far away from work during the week off.
Kicker Justin Tucker missed two field goals and an extra point in the Ravens’ 24-19 loss to the Eagles in Week 13 and he said on Monday that he “was here all week” working on correcting what’s contributed to his worst NFL season. Tucker has missed a career-high 10 kicks — eight field goals and two extra points — this season, but the Ravens have not entertained any thoughts of replacing their longtime star.
Tucker said on Monday that he feels “very good” after getting work in during the bye week and head coach John Harbaugh continued to sound unconcerned about the kicker.
“He’s in a great place,” Harbaugh said, via the team’s website.
Given the way the season has gone for the two teams, the Ravens shouldn’t be in position for a kick to determine the outcome of this week’s game against the Giants. NFL games have a way of thrusting players into the spotlight, though, and the latest check on how Tucker is holding up could come on Sunday.
