JUCO NEWS: Evans joins Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff at Richard Bland College – HoopDirt

Head men’s basketball coach, Guillermo Cabrera is pleased to announce the addition of Dylan Evans to the men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2024-25 school year. Evans will focus on player development, communication with future recruits, and creating content for team social media pages.

Evans earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from St. Bonaventure University, in St. Bonaventure, New York. He earned his Master’s of Science degree in Management from Keuka College in Keuka Park, New York in 2024.

Evans began his coaching career as the Men’s Basketball Student Manager at NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University in 2018, through 2022. At St. Bonaventure, Evans assisted in day-to-day player development, assisted the Director of Operations with travel and other team logistics, and assisted the team’s graduate assistant with the management of video coordination. He was a member of a program that had a NCAA Tournament appearance, was Atlantic 10 Regular Season and Tournament Champions, Highest AP Top 25 Ranking since 1971, and NIT Semi-Final Appearance.

During his time at “Bonnies,” Evans was also a Boys Basketball Assistant Coach at Owego Free Academy from 2018-2020, and became the Boys Basketball Social Media Coordinator in 2020-2023. Some of his responsibilities included determining player lineups and positioning, running effective practice drills to improve player performance, creating graphics for game days and awards, and creating highlight videos from game film.

Evans went on to be the Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant Coach at Keuka College while completing his Master’s degree. At Keuka, Evans was in charge of day-to-day player development, recruiting prospective student-athletes, and created all scouting reports for opponents by breaking down film and statistics. In 2024, he also began working for Finger Lakes Fury AAU as the eighth and nineth grade Boys Head Coach. Evans planned all practices to help improve individual skills and team play, scheduled all practices and tournaments, and devised a winning strategy.

“I am extremely excited to add Coach Evans to the staff as an Assistant Coach. His experience with high-level programs, organization, and knowledge of the game will help us reach our goals,” says Head Coach, Guillermo Cabrera.

Evans will also assist in all other aspects of the men’s basketball program.
