Juventus receive double midfield boost ahead of Man City in Champions League

Thiago Motta has received an injury boost ahead of Juventus’s upcoming visit from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night, as he will likely have two more midfielders at his disposal as the Old Lady’s injury concerns begin to ease.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, both Douglas Luiz and Weston McKennie should be back with the squad for the Man City clash at the Allianz Stadium.

Once again, McKennie has fought his way back into first-team contention this season after a summer where he could have left Juventus permanently. He has gone on to make 13 first appearances in all competitions this season, including two goals and two assists in the process.

He has not been available for the last three Juve matches, though, including the recent 0-0 draw with Aston Villa in the Champions League.

Douglas Luiz, however, has not enjoyed as predictive a start to the 2024-25 season as McKennie. The former Manchester City midfielder has not featured since mid-October, missing 10 matches across Serie A and the Champions League.

Both, however, should be available to face Manchester City on Wednesday night according to Sky Sport Italia.
