Kansas State basketball has a chance to salvage a split of its two-game road trip on Tuesday with a visit to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for a 7 p.m. game against Oklahoma State at Gallagher-Iba Arena (ESPN+).

The Wildcats (7-6, 1-1 Big 12) nearly ended its road losing streak Saturday at TCU, but blew a six-point lead in the final three minutes to fall, 63-62. Oklahoma State (8-5) has started Big 12 play with double-digit losses at home to Houston (60-47) and at West Virginia (69-50).

K-State, which beat Cincinnati in its Big 12 opener on Dec. 30 in Manhattan, is a 2.5-point underdog against an Oklahoma State team that is 5-1 at home. With the loss at TCU, the Wildcats now have dropped 12 straight road games, including an 0-3 record this season.

Forward David N’Guesan, who had 10 points and 17 rebounds in the TCU game, averages 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds to lead the Wildcats for the season. Coleman Hawkins is averaging 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in league play with point guard Dug McDaniel adding 14.5 points and 3.5 assists.

For Oklahoma State, Marchelus Avery averages 12.5 points off the bench, while Abou Ousmane contributing 11.8 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Wildcats are shut out for four-plus minutes as Oklahoma State scores the last 15 points of the half to lead K-State 43-24. Wildcats with 11 turnovers, and Coleman Hawkins has three fouls.

Oklahoma State is on an 11-0 run and now leads K-State 39-24 with 22 seconds left in the half. K-State hasn’t scored in nearly four minutes.

K-State trails Oklahoma State with 7:08 left in the half, 22-20. The Wildcats are shooting 53.6% but have turned the ball over five times and missed both of their free throws. OSU shooting 47.6%.

After a 2-for-6 shooting start, K-State has now made five straight and came back to tie it twice before Marcheulus Avery’s 3-pointer put Oklahoma State back in front 18-15 at the 10:27 media timeout.

Oklahoma State has hit 5 of 9 shots to start the game and leads K-State 11-5 at the first media timeout with 15:55 left in the first half. The Wildcats are 2 of 5 and has the game’s only turnover.

Oklahoma State is outrebounding the Wildcats, 5-2.

Kansas State will go with the same starting lineup as the two previous Big 12 games. Dug McDaniel starts at point guard with Max Jones and Brendan Hausen on the wings and David N’Guessan and Coleman Hawkins at the forwards.

For Iowa State, it’s Bryce Thompson, Arturo Dean, Jamyron Keller, Robert Jennings and About Ousmane.
