Karthik, Butler, Stoinis and Rashid Khan join Abu Dhabi T10 bandwagon

Date:

It is the third franchise tournament for Karthik after quitting IPL and international cricket in June this year

The T10 version of cricket is picking up pace and now the Abu Dhabi edition of the tournament will have the services of the likes of former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Dinesh Karthik.

Along with Karthik, England and Rajasthan Royals star Jos Buttler, Afghanistan and Gujarat Titans sensation Rashid Khan and Australian and Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis will also be part of the 10-overs a side tournament.

These players will join the already established T10 names such as Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Mohammad Amir and Shakib Al Hasan.

For Karthik, it is the third franchise tournament that the wicketkeeper-batter has signed up for after quitting the Indian Premier League (IPL) and international cricket at the end of IPL 2024. He has been roped in by the SA20 franchise Paarl Royals and the Legends League 2024.

Already an eight-team tournament, the league will transform itself into a 10-team affair with the addition of Bolts Ajman and UP Nawabs. The T10 tournament will begin on November 21  and run up to December 2.

“We’re excited to deliver yet another world-class line up at the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10, which has thrived since we brought the competition to the UAE capital,” Matt Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub said in a statement.
