Sep. 3—The Kiwanis Club of Joplin has announced its 17th annual fundraising golf tournament will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin.
Check-in registration will start at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Shotgun start is 1 p.m.
Upon completion at 5:30 p.m., numerous prizes will be awarded for winning participants, including two flights, and some events and tee boxes based on player age and gender.
David Niebur, club president, said this year’s beneficiary is Lafayette House.
“We are grateful that the Kiwanis Club of Joplin has chosen to support Lafayette House as we continue our mutual mission of providing a safe and nurturing environment where children and families can heal,” Susan Hickam, director of Lafayette House, said in a statement. “It is because of opportunities such as the Kiwanis Club that we are fortunate to impact the children of Joplin and surrounding communities. Our children are truly worthy of this combined effort.”
