Kohler Basketball Legend Joe Wolf Passes Away Unexpectedly

Date:

Kohler basketball legend and former NBA Player Joe Wolf has passed away at age 59.  Wolf, who led Kohler to three state titles in 1980, 82 and 83, became the first McDonald’s All-American from Wisconsin, one of only eight to achieve that honor.  He went on to play at North Carolina and was drafted 13th by the LA Clippers in the 1987 NBA Draft.  After his 12-year career on the court, Wolf went on to spend another 25 years coaching in the college and pro leagues, including as an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks.  Wolf was also a local businessman, owning several Dairy Queen outlets in the area.

The Milwaukee Bucks sent a release upon Wolf’s passing, calling him a “highly respected, adored and dedicated coach and player across the NBA.”  It concluded by saying that “The Bucks and Herd will always be grateful to Joe for his hard work and commitment to our organization.  He will be missed.”
