KSR’s 2024-25 Kentucky High School Basketball Top 25 Rankings

Date:

High school basketball in Kentucky has arrived. Tonight marks the beginning of the 2024-25 season as teams from all over the state begin their long and hopeful runs to the Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena in the spring.

With the start of a new season comes a fresh batch of rankings. KSR has recruited 10 voters from all corners of the Bluegrass to help fill out this season’s weekly Top 25 updates. With the season beginning tonight and several marquee matchups on the docket, we’ve released our first Top 25 rankings to go with it.

To no surprise, Great Crossing — led by Kentucky commit Malachi Moreno — checks in as the preseason No. 1. Last year’s two state finalists, Lyon County (defending champions) and Harlan County, lost their two stars to the University of Kentucky but still managed to crack our initial Top 25. Trinity, Newport, St. Xavier, and Ashland Blazer round out the rest of the top five in order.

Check out the entire Top 25 below.
