EUGENE — Balance and depth, two traits Oregon was sorely lacking the past three season, was on full display in Monday’s season opener.
Kwame Evans Jr. scored a career-high 23 points and six rebounds to lead four players in double-figures for the Ducks in a 91-76 win over UC Riverside in front of 5,494 at Matthew Knight Arena.
“I thought he did a lot of good things,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “Got to be a little stronger finisher at the hole. I thought he had a couple of plays offensively that he could have made for other guys that he didn’t but a lot of good things. When he used his length I thought he did a lot of good things defensively.
