NEW DELHI: Rohit Sharma’s stump mic chatter often grabbed headlines as the Indian captain’s cheeky comments from behind the wickets sent social media into a frenzy.
Another stump mic gold of Rohit went viral on social media, a video of which was shared by official broadcaster Star Sports on their X handle. In the clip, Rohit is heard shouting at his teammate for not following his fielding instructions.
“Kya peeche peeche bhagta hai tu?” Rohit angrily asked his teammate, who was not visible in the video.
“Bhaiya udhar tha mai,” came the response.
“Tu idhar than na,” Rohit questioned. “Nahi, Harshit udhar tha peeche,” his teammate replied.
Harbhajan Singh, who was commentating in Hindi at the time, couldn’t help but recall his famous one-liner, “Garden mein kyun ghoom raha hain tu?”
Talking about the match, India crashed to a humiliating 10-wicket in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide as Australia levelled the five-Test series 1-1 within just two-and-a-half days.
This was the shortest-ever Test between India and Australia in terms of balls bowled.
After a facile 295-run win in Perth, Indian batting unit won’t be too amused to learn that they survived a total of 81 overs across both innings, which isn’t even a whole day of Test match batting.
