Kylian Mbappe replicates Real Madrid legend’s celebration in Champions League opener

Date:

Real Madrid opened their 2024/25 Champions League campaign with a comfortable 3-1 win over VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday.

Kylian Mbappe made the headlines again, scoring for a third consecutive time by netting the opener against the German outfit.

Mbappe replicates Sergio Ramos celebration

This was Mbappe’s first goal for Real Madrid in the Champions League and to mark the special moment, he replicated a famous Sergio Ramos celebration.

The Frenchman ran towards the crowd and blew a kiss to the camera, a nod to legendary Real Madrid defender Ramos.

Mbappe’s goal came just 20 seconds into the second half when the former PSG superstar capitalised on Rodrygo’s excellent chance creation to open the scoring.

Mbappe’s move to replicate Ramos’ celebration indicates the fact that the Frenchman is well aware of the Real Madrid heritage – something he made clear at the time of his presentation.

Apart from the goal, it was a solid night for Mbappe at Santiago Bernabeu, who tested the Stuttgart goalkeeper more than once.

While he was certainly not the best player on the pitch, Mbappe’s goal against Stuttgart will go a long way in further boosting his confidence, as Real Madrid prepare for a crucial phase ahead.
