Aug. 29—GREENSBURG — The Lady Pirates golf team split with Franklin County and North Decatur at the Greensburg Country Club Monday.
Franklin County came out on top with a team score of 191. The Lady Pirates were just one shot back with 192. North took third with 233.
Payton Bright led the way for Greensburg with a 45, a career best. Kahlen Adams carded a 47. Mary Harmon finished with a 49 and Lydia Hersley had a 51.
Batesville
Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs golf team placed fifth in the 18-team Trojan Classic hosted by Center Grove at Hickory Stick Golf Course. Batesville is now No. 10 in the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association Rankings.
Batesville Junior Ava South placed tied for sixth in the 96-player field with a 2-over 73.
Addy Weiler was next for the Lady Bulldogs with 75. Zoey Ahern carded an 86. Alexis Gallagher finished with 95 and Grace Saner had a 105.
Monday, the Lady Bulldogs posted a low team score of 144 to knock off Ryle (Ky.) with 146 and South Dearborn with 243.
For the Lady Bulldogs, South shot even par 34 followed by Weiler 35, Gallagher 37, Ahern 38 and Saner 44.
Annika Okuda was the medalist with a 33.
Batesville competes in the Hall of Fame Classic at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Legends of Indiana in Franklin.
Rushville
Monday, the Lady Lions golfers played the hosts as well as the visitor role in a 4-way match with Connersville, Shelbyville and Wapahani at Arbor Crossing in Connersville. On a hot day with no breeze, Wapahani came away in first place with a team score of 212. Rushville finished second with 223. Shelbyville took third at 241. Connersville was fourth with 252.
The Lady Lions were led by Emma Tressler with 49 (third overall). Ella Tressler fired a 56. Megan Alexander shot a 57 and Abby Hill shot 61.
