Legendary Ex Inter Milan President Hails ‘Formidable’ Inter & Names Two Best Qualities In Nerazzurri Coach

Legendary former Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti feels that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has two great qualities in particular.

Moratti spoke to Quotdiano Sportivo in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews. He hailed Inzaghi’s proactive tactics and avoiding the limelight as key to a “formidable” Inter side.

Inzaghi has now been coach of Inter for well over three years.

The 48-year-old has really formed the Nerazzurri team in his own image.

Inzaghi had a formidable task on his hands when he took over at Inter. He had to inherit the legacy of Antonio Conte.

But over time, the former Lazio coach has really made the team his own.

And in fact, Inzaghi has even surpassed the achievements of the coach who he replaced.

Massimo Moratti Names Two Best Qualities Of Simone Inzaghi

Legendary former Nerazzurri President Moratti said that Inzaghi is the “added value” of this Inter team.

“He’s made them formidable,” said the former President.

However, Moratti said that Inzaghi does not necessarily remind him of any of the coaches that he appointed.

“Coaches are all the same, and all different,” the former Inter President said.

“The same, because they have to repeat the same things in public. Different between each of them has their own project that’s exclusively theirs.”

“There are two qualities in particular that I like about Inzaghi,” Moratti said.

The former Inter President named the coach’s “idea of football, and the proactive attitude he has.”

“And the fact that he doesn’t demand the spotlight,” Moratti said.

“He never puts himself at the centre of things.”

Meanwhile, Moratti also admits that the Treble-winning team under Jose Mourinho is not his favourite Inter team from his Presidency, “although obviously I have an indelible memory of it.”

“But I loved the team of Simoni more,” Moratti said. “With the original Ronaldo.”

“They won less than they deserved,” the former President looked back. “And we later learned why,” he said, referring to revelations during the Calciopoli scandal.
