Leicester announce Steve Cooper sacking

Steve Cooper has been dismissed as Leicester City manager with immediate effect, the club have announced.

The Foxes were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea on Saturday in what proved to be his final game in charge, with the loss leaving them just two points above the relegation zone.

Assistant manager Alan Tate and first team coach and analyst Steve Rands have also departed the club.

Ben Dawson will oversee first team duties while the club work on a replacement.

David Moyes and Graham Potter are the early frontrunners to replace the former Nottingham Forest boss.
