The undefeated Kansas State Wildcats take on the 5-1 Duke Blue Devils in a ranked showdown of two of the best teams in college women’s basketball, the. game tips off at 3:00 p.m. ET.

The 2024 Ball Dawgs Classic tips off today at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nevada and continues through Wednesday, Nov. 27.

One of the most anticipated women’s college basketball games during Thanksgiving Week is a top 25 showdown of two programs hoping to plant themselves safely in the top 9 of the AP Women’s Basketball rankings with a win.

And of those teams is the Duke Women’s Basketball program. The Blue Devils began the season No. 11 in the rankings but dropped to No. 14 in the rankings last week. They moved up one spot after a win against Belmont. But in the first game of the 2024 Ball Dawgs Classic in Las Vegas, No. 13 Duke will face No. 9 Kansas State at 3 p.m. on Nov. 25.

Duke lost Maryland, 85-80, in an early season matchup, but has rebounded nicely with three straight wins. Duke will also have the opportunity, with a win on Monday, to possibly play No. 8 Oklahoma on Nov. 27.

Kansas State Women’s Basketball is hoping to move up even further in the rankings as it travels to Las Vegas for the 2024 Ball Dawgs Classic with a chance for two games against AP Top 25 ranked teams.

The Wildcats started the season ranked No. 13 and have moved up to No. 9 after 5-0 start. A win over the Blue Devils on Monday will set up a possible matchup with former Big 12 rival and No. 8 Oklahoma on Nov. 27, if the Sooners can get by DePaul on Nov. 25.

First Quarter Score: No. 9 Kansas State 18-17 No. 13 Duke

It was all Wildcats for the first 5 minutes of the game, taking more than three minutes for Duke Blue Devils to sink their first shot. As the quarter progressed, Duke found its footing and started scoring but it was already too late.

Kansas State’s Ayoka Lee was already merging into the fast lane at highway speed, making three of five attempts early and extending the gap to ten points.

In the latter half of the quarter, Duke regained ground, going on an 8-0 run. They closed the gap entirely with 41 seconds remaining in the quarter. Reigan Richardson leads with 5 points, 1 rebound.

Early Impressions: Kansas State Makes Five Of First 6 Attempts, KSU 11-0 Duke

The Kansas State Wildcats offense is off and rolling against this tough Duke defense with five makes out of their first six attempts. Ayoka Lee has already made an early impact with four points off of easy layups, unsurprising as we’re expecting at least 19 points from the center.

Duke has been unable to sink anything thus far, losing 11-0 at the first timeout with 6:47 remaining in the first quarter.
