Mohamed Salah has just dropped a major hint about his Liverpool future.

The Egyptian forward played a starring role for the Reds on Saturday afternoon as Arne Slot’s men came back to beat Brighton 2-1 in the second-half.

Salah scored a sensational winner for Liverpool, which has seen his side ascend to the top of the Premier League table as Manchester City and Arsenal both fell to defeats.

It means he is in great form with Salah now having the joint most goal contributions (12) in the league alongside Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

But of course the focus is not just on his performances on the pitch, it’s also on his future at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah‘s contract situation has certainly been a talking point this season.

The Liverpool winger’s current deal expires next summer and he will be free to negotiate with other sides from abroad in January when he enters the last six months of his deal. While there is no update on his situation, Salah has dropped a major hint that he will not be leaving Anfield in 2025.

Fortunately he’s not let the saga off the pitch affect his on-field performances with 16 goal contributions in 15 appearances in all competitions already this season and is currently joint-ninth in the Premier League’s all-star goal scorers list.

His goal-scoring ability and exceptional work rate will be incredibly difficult to replace. However, we have come up with three potential successors who will be capable to step into his shoes.

At time of writing, Liverpool sit on top of the Premier League, two points ahead of Manchester City.

Liverpool returned top yesterday after a blitz saw them score two goals in three minutes late on in the game to defeat Brighton 2-1.

Manchester City, meanwhile, fell to an unexpected 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth. The title holders were fully outclassed on the day, giving up waves of attacks to an exciting, young Bournemouth side under manager Andoni Iraola.

Before the game yesterday morning, Sky Sports News Editor Lyall Thomas tweeted out that, amongst others, Liverpool are interested in Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo as they plan for the future.

The rumours almost certainly have credibility too, with new sporting director Richard Hughes being technical director at Bournemouth when Semenyo was signed.

Manchester City are very close to one day completing a transfer for Mohamed Salah.

That is true. But it’s not what you think.

The Mohamed Salah in question, isn’t the Mohamed Salah we know and love at Liverpool.

To Liverpool supporters, there is only one Salah in the entire world and that is true, at least in the sense that there is no one like him when it comes to his footballing ability.

However, when it comes to the footballing world he is not alone.

There is another Mohamed Salah in the game who goes by the same name and who is getting nearer and nearer to moving to Manchester City in the future.
