Local basketball trainer Nick Davidson loves offering his service to our community

Date:

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Nicholas Davidson has been a basketball trainer for our community for a couple of months now.

Davidson is a Henderson Elementary, and Carey Junior High alumni and his training business was started when a friend of his asked for a favor.

Davidson states “I have a homie that’s in the NBA and he asked me to train one of his nephews so that just sparked the idea of you know giving back to the whole community and staying around the game.”

The five p’s in Davidson’s training page (Five P’s Basketball) stands for, proper preparation prevents poor performance.

Davidson spends most of his day everyday preparing kids with consistency, and “honing in on what’s not so good, to make it the good.”

“Being able to stay around the game while helping the next generation and seeing where they can take it is just wonderful to me,” states Davidson.

Davidson also says something interesting, he says that with the increased support of the WNBA recently, he has seen a lot more girls coming through his program wanting to get learn from him, and that hits home for him.

Davidson adds, “having a daughter its just amazing to see and the women they deserve a chance just like the men you know whoever loves the game they deserve to get that same opportunity.”

Davidson says that as of late he sees a lot of WNBA jerseys around the region, including the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and Davidson says he sees how Clark inspires girls to work on their craft, which then allows him and motivates him to keep providing service for our community.

For Davidson, he just loves what he does, especially in the community that he grew up in.

“That’s the great thing about Cheyenne it’s a small town but just getting out and being able to connect with the community is great,” says Davidson.
