LSU stuck to its winning ways as it pulled off a double-digit victory over Florida Gulf Coast.
The 80-71 win over the Eagles marks the Tigers’ fourth-straight win as they remain unbeaten at home.
Daimion Collins led all scorers with 18 points as LSU finished with five players in double-figures. Jordan Sears and Cam Carter both chipped in 13 while Corey Chest registered a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Dji Bailey also chipped in 11 points.
While both teams turned the ball over, the Tigers outnumbered the Eagles 21-10 in points scored off giveaways, along with a 20-10 edge in fast break points.
Florida Gulf Coast jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but a 10-0 LSU run put the home team in front for good. A 13-2 run midway through the first half pushed the margin to double-digits. LSU held a significant lead the rest of the way.
The Tigers also commanded the paint with a 40-26 advantage. They shot 50% from the field but just 29.6% from three, making eight of their 27 attempts from beyond the arc.
In its next game, LSU hits the road for a contest against SMU on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 3:00 CT.
